With Other Users: Your profile name, level, and leaderboard rankings are visible to other users
With Friends: Friends can see your progress, achievements, and activity feed

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy & Safeguarding

Our service is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

For users aged 13–17: We recommend obtaining parental or guardian consent before using this app. Teachers using classroom features with minors should obtain appropriate school or guardian consent before enrolling students. We do not currently collect audio recordings, and teacher feedback is private between teacher and student — it is not visible to other students.

Schools and institutions: Before deploying Gospian in a school setting, please contact us to discuss a Data Processing Agreement and safeguarding requirements for your region. We do not claim GDPR, COPPA, or any regulatory compliance without evidence of legal review.

9. Classroom & Student Data

If you join a classroom, the following additional data is processed:

Enrollment: Your email and name are visible to the classroom teacher and co-teachers for roster management.
Assignment completion: Your teacher can see whether you have started and completed assigned work, and your accuracy on assigned exercises.
Skill progress: Your teacher can see an aggregated skill grid showing which sounds you have mastered, are developing, or have not yet been assessed on. Raw attempt data is not exposed in the grid.
Feedback: Teacher feedback on your submissions is private between you and your teacher. Other students cannot see your feedback.
Resources: Classroom resources (files, links) are visible to enrolled students only. Private files require authorisation to access.

When you leave a classroom or your data is deleted, your classroom membership is removed but teacher-created content (assignments, resources) is preserved for remaining students.

10. Data Retention

We retain your personal data as follows:

Active accounts: Your practice data, achievements, and preferences are kept while your account is active.
Deleted accounts: When you delete your data, it is removed within 30 days. Teacher-owned classroom content is preserved for remaining students.
Classroom data: Classroom content is retained until the teacher archives or deletes the classroom.
Feedback submissions: Product feedback is retained until reviewed and resolved.
Analytics: Aggregate analytics data is anonymised after 90 days.

11. Data Export & Deletion

You can download a complete copy of your personal data or permanently delete it at any time from the Profile page (Privacy & Data Rights section). Data export produces a JSON file containing all your practice history, achievements, social connections, and classroom memberships. Data deletion removes your personal data and logs you out — this cannot be undone.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
